Supply Lines
This is a short game, developed in 2 weeks, that focuses on territory control through the use of automated unit deployments. Basically picking a location for your endless troops to fight for. Green is your territory, Red is theirs, Purple is where conflict is happening. Your troops are on the left hand side of cells and your enemy is on the right hand side.
Happy for any feedback.
- Was it fun? What could be added, etc.
I started to develop this as practice for any actual Game Jams that I was going to participate in later on, and to see what was possible with my skill set. It has quite a lot of things that were new to me and so it seems to have ended as at least a fun little puzzle game, rather than the fully strategic territory domination game that was intended.
While I have 'built quality in' there are still some things that I haven't added due to the expansion of my mechanics (You might notice blinking units when you have captured the HQs). There is a back button for each level if you want to restart, or find yourself in trouble.
Quick Tutorial:
- You should only have 2 units, but will need to use both of them strategically.
- Click on Deploy Unit, then click on the cell that you want that unit to move towards - The text will change to the location to indicate that you have sent a unit to move to that location
- Units will move continuously after being sent to their deployment location
- Be careful not to run out of deployment resources (You should have a high amount for each level, during prototype)
- Attack the Red HQs to win the level
